From the 56 boxes at The Croft, John has trained over 550 winners to date, which includes 27 Group and Listed winners in eight different countries.
Recently, Dark Islander won the Oak Tree Derby Group 2 at Santa Anita, Clinet won the Cape Verdi (L) at Nad Al Sheba, and Docksider won the Hong Kong Mile (Group 2) at Sha Tin. Group 1 performers include Broadway Flyer and Wind In Her Hair (both classic runners up), The Deputy and Momentum.
In 2008 Ashram established his place in the top 15 two year olds with a 4l victory in the Somerville Tattersalls Stakes G3 at Newmarket.
Over the years the stable has landed plenty of major handicaps including the Victoria Cup, Newbury Spring Cup and Autumn Cup (2x) The Old Newton Cup (2x), Rosebery H’cap and The Daniel Prenn and Garrowby Stks at York.
John trains for several leading owners but partnerships both large and small play a significant part in the operation.
